We are delighted to hear that one of our customers, Gwynedd Council, has been nominated for an industry award following the successful implementation of the xchangewales eTrading for Schools service.
The Local Government Chronicle (LGC) awards recognise areas vital to local government including procurement, innovation, regeneration and efficiency and transformational government. Gwynedd Council Leader Dafydd Edwards said: “As a Council, Gwynedd is committed to finding new and more efficient ways of working. We are confident that using the electronic and web-based tools available as part of the xchangewales programme will help to improve efficiency, reduce costs and make sure that we get better value for money.”
The online service allows individual schools in the authority to select goods and services from a range of electronic catalogues through a secure, simple ordering portal that can be integrated with schools’ existing finance management systems. With all public sector organisations expecting to face difficult budget decisions over the coming years, this is key to Gwynedd’s long-term programme to ensure it gets the best value for the taxpayer.
Paul Skellon, xchangewales Programme Director, said: “We are delighted that the true pioneering spirit of Gwynedd Council has been recognised by LGC. The xchangewales suite of groundbreaking eProcurement tools and services are specifically designed to reap financial and efficiency savings for the Welsh Public Sector – the benefits of implementing eTrading for Schools – and its sister service eTrading – have already been felt by Gwynedd. We wish everyone at Gwynedd Council every success at the awards ceremony.”
CMC wish Gwynedd Council the best of luck at the Awards gala dinner on the 24th March in London. To read more about this project, click here.
