CMC Partnership has played a supporting role working with the Stabilisation Unit in establishing the Government’s new UK Civilian Stabilisation Group (CSG), a 1,000-strong pool of civilian experts in conflict and disaster relief that can be deployed to help rebuild fragile states and war-torn countries.
The UK CSG, launched on February 9 by the Prime Minister, has been set up by the Government’s Stabilisation Unit, an inter-departmental unit jointly owned by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for International Development (DfID) and the Ministry of Defence.
CMC Partnership, which has offices in London and Wales, has helped the Stabilisation Unit deliver the three project streams that led to the 1,000-strong civilian standby capacity.
CMC spokesman Richard Carter said: “We are very proud and pleased to have been involved in helping the Stabilisation Unit deliver the UK’s Civilian Stabilisation Group.
“Our work has included helping to create policies and guidelines on training and recruitment, project management, mentoring project managers, development of the UK CSG web portal and SU website, project management of the UK CSG HR Database Solution and developing ‘business as usual’ tools.
“Key to our success in supporting the Stabilisation Unit has been the quality and commitment of our consultants, our flexible and close relationship with the managers and staff, and our skills and expertise.”
David Ennis, Head of Capability at the Stabilisation Unit, praised CMC’s involvement saying: “The level of professionalism and commitment of CMC staff has been exceptional and we have found them flexible, diligent and most importantly intelligent – taking advantage of change and helping us to respond positively to it”.
CMC is one of the UK’s fastest growing private businesses. A 53% growth in sales over the last 3 years led to the company joining the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table in December 2009.
The company has also secured a place on the Buying Solutions Management Consultancy & Accounting Services (MCAS) Framework Agreement in the Project and Programme Management Consultancy, and Human Resources Consultancy categories.
