CMC Secures Local Authority Contract

10 December 2007

CMC’s record of ensuring business continuity in regional authorities and delivering projects to customer organisations by deploying and motivating teams to deliver a shared goal has helped secure a contract with the West Midlands Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (WMRIEP).

WMRIEP requires Business Process Improvement/Lean Systems Thinking (BPI) consultancy advice, guidance and training. CMC’s experience of successful programme and project management for government departments makes it perfectly placed to implement transformation programmes and strategic change management tailored to the customer, as well as setting up BPI projects covering discrete organisations focussed on the same service area.

CMC will assist local authorities across the West Midlands in moving from traditional management models and adopting systems thinking to deliver high-quality services to customers.

In partnership with the Koios consultancy, CMC will build capacity and sustainability in lean systems thinking within and across authorities which leads to the delivery of better services to customers and significant efficiency gains.

Over the next three years, CMC will work with WMRIEP to achieve their vision of:

  • Providing a return of at least £2.4m over 3 years on the initial investment of £800,000 that has been budgeted for the BPI Programme by improving process efficiency across the West Midlands region;
  • Helping authorities to deliver better services to their customers using more efficient processes; and
  • Developing cultures within their authorities that are customer focused demonstrated by increasing levels of customer satisfaction.
