Supporting managers to deliver organisation wide change
This manufacturer of premium sports cars employs over 1,500 engineers and professionals, and designs and builds some of the world’s fastest super cars. They embarked upon their largest process and technology change to date – to implement an ERP system covering all business functions from engineering and production, logistics and supply chain, finance and HR. The success of the change was critical for their strategy; an enabler for growth and the introduction of new models.
CMC worked with the client to develop and deliver a programme of workshops for 130 managers over a two week period. Working with two internal change management practitioners (trained by CMC) and the HR team, we developed a half day highly interactive programme to equip managers to be more effective leaders of change. We explored their awareness of the need for change, their understanding of the change and their desire to participate. The managers were equipped with tools to manage their teams through the coming change, including managing resistance.
We also worked with sponsors to build their awareness and understanding of change management, and the specific challenges. This included helping them understand their managers’ predisposition to the change. We made the workshop both practical and interactive, related to the changes the staff were currently experiencing. This ensured the sponsors found it worthwhile. Our work embedded change management capacity into the organisation and helped the manufacturer to successfully deliver their ERP transformation.
